| WYCOMBE'S NUMBER ONE FANZINE RETURNS ON THE NET... | |
I MET ALAN SMITH I can remember
TAF's first meeting with Alan Smith. It was to interview him for the fanzine and I have to say I was mildly excited by the prospect. It was 7.30 on a weekday night and the man had been busy compiling video tapes of Paul Hyde's goalkeeping gaffs at Carlisle away, which he delighted in showing me. However, he then sat me down in his office and perched uncomfortably close to me on the sofa. The excitement drained out of me as the man proceeded to carry out the interview with his hands down the front of his Vandanel jogging bottoms. A most unsavoury spectacle but one which I will never forget - an aura of camp filled the room. I'm not saying that anything untoward was occuring in those trunks, but I was relieved when I managed to get out into the fresh air - and no I didn't check out the quality of his package.Ever since that meeting I was sceptical of the man's motives, and I often think he got close to ruining this club with his overpaid dodgy signings and constant harpings on at the 'doom and gloom-mongers'. I have to pity the Palace fans who have got to put up with his inane patter and tight pink shorts, but if you feel like you've some anger to burn off - I suggest a trip to the paddock on Saturday afternoon. Just don't look him in the 'bionic' eye. READ A DIARY OF ALAN SMITH |
