After brief speculation, the Club confirmed on the afternon of 18th July 2023 the signing of Bristol City central defender Joe Low. The 21-year-old had been on trial with Wanderers during pre-season training and had played in a 'behind-closed-doors' friendly with the Arsenal U21 side on Friday 14th July 2023. The 6'5" player had come through the ranks of the Bristol City youth system, spending time on loan at several non-League clubs before making his pro debut as a late substitute in The Robins Championship game versus Middlesbrough in November 2022. Later in the 2022/23 season he played 15 times on loan at Walsall in League Two. His move to Wycombe was reported as being for an undiclosed fee and came at the same time as speculation of the departure of Chris Forino to QPR increased. The Cardiff born player has Welsh U17 and U21 caps to his name. He was not allocated a squad number at the time of the move to Adams Park but later allocated No.17. The length of the deal was later revealed as two-years. He is the son of former professional footballer Josh Low who made more than 500 senior appearances, including spells with Bristol Rovers, Cardiff City, Oldham Athletic, Northampton Town and Cheltenham Town. After making his debut for Wanderers in the 2-0 Football League Cup victory at Milton Keynes on 8th August 2023, he netted his first goals for Wycombe when he bagged a brace in the 3-2 League win over Leyton Orient on 15th August 2023. He scored again on 28th August 2023, scoring the opening goal in the 2-1 victory at Bristol Rovers. His 'finger to the lips' celebration, in front of the opposition fans, earned him a yellow card. He had totalled 41 First Team appearance by the end of his first season at Adams Park and also gained his first senior cap for Wales when he started against Gibraltar in a friendly on 11 October 2023- lineing up against club teammate Tjay De Barr. The following season he formed a strong pairing with fellow central defender Caleb Taylor who had joined Wanderers on loan from West Brom. The duo earned plaudits in the first-half of the 2024/25 campaign as Wanderers flew to the top of League One under Manager Matt Bloomfield. The January 2025 transfer window saw speculation of a move to Championship football, with Swansea City heading the list of contenders. But the window passed without movement leaving Low to play out his contract as Wanderers promotion hopes faded under Mike Dodds. Wycombe offered a new contract to the player but he refused to sign and on 10 June 2025 it was confirmed he would be joining fellow League One side Huddersfield Town on a three-year-deal. Because he was under 24 at the time of the deal, an undisclosed compensation fee was paid to Wanderers. External links: Wikipedia Soccerbase
