Background: Left sided defender signed on a season long deal for 2004/5 after impressing Manager Tony Adams during the opening pre-season games. A former trainee with Portsmouth who was loaned out for a short spell at Barnet during his first season as a Pro but returned to Pompey after just one appearance. He nows sees Wycombe as his chance to break into First Team footall, commenting at the time of signing "I've been playing reserve football at Portsmouth and I think I'm ready to play First Team football somewhere." Meanwhile, Tony Adams commented "He's as hard as nails. It is an element we need. We didn't win enough battles last year and I want people who want to win battles and Gary wins his battles." |
