Background:
Wycombe Wanderers announced the ninth signing of the close season on Friday 28th July 2023 with the arrival of 19-year-old West Ham United midfielder Freddie Potts on a season-long loan from the Premier League side. He was allocated No.19 in the Wycombe squad for the 2023/24 season.

The youngster, son of former West Ham player and then current coach, Steve Potts, signed for The Hammers at the age of six - signing his first pro contract in June 2021 and making his senior debut in a Europa League tie in December 2021. He made two more appearances the following season in the Europa Conference League and was part of the Hammers squad for the 2023 final against Fiorentina in Prague.
