Background:
The former youth player with Brentford and Colchester United signed a one year deal with Wanderers on 27th April 2021 following a brief trial at Adams Park.

Due to injury, his First Team debut for Wycombe was delayed until 31st August 2021 when he started the Football League Trophy tie against Aston Villa at Adams Park. He then scored on his second appearance when he netted in the 2-2 FA Cup draw at Hartlepool United on 6th November 2021. A Football League debut followed on 7th December 2021 against Burton Albion as he stood in for the unfit Anthony Stewart. Those performances were enough to convince Manager Gareth Ainsworth to extend the player's deal with the Club, later in December 2021, until June 2024.

Commenting at the time, Ainsworth said: "Chris was a diamond in the rough when he came to us on trial last season, and he’s worked so hard to get fit, prove what he can do, and become an important part of the squad in a short time. He’s another shining example of the development squad programme that we introduced only 18 months ago, and now we’re seeing a number of players taking the opportunities that we’re giving them. The whole coaching and medical staff deserve credit for working with Chris and turning him from a player who slotted in to make up the numbers in a trial game, into someone who looks like he has a real future in the game, and Chris should be rightly proud of his efforts to earn this new deal."

After a series of impressive performances for the Wanderers during the 2022/23 season, there were several strong rumours linking Forino with a Championship side Queens Park Rangers, now managed by departed Wycombe gaffer, Gareth Ainsworth. But with the player still in contract, it appeared that talks broke down and a deal could not be finalised. However 12 months later on 14 June 2024, with the player now out of contract, a move to fellow League One side Bolton Wanderers was agreed.
