Wycombe team consisted of a mixture of youth teamers and first team fringe players. Watched by Lawrie Sanchez, Stewart Castledine played the entire ninety minutes and showed that he is on his way back to full match fitness. Danny Senda and Matt Brady both had quiet games as Wycombe struggled to get a touch in the opening 30 minutes. Town's Steve Cowe could have scored in the 5th minute but Mark Westhead did well to block with his feet. A bizzare incident immediately after the break saw Wycombe substitute 'keeper Mark Osborn pick up a yellow card. He had replaced Westhead at the break but Wycombe failed to inform the officials and after a signal from the assistant referee, he was cautioned for entering the field of play without permission. Jason Cousins, being watched by brother-in-law Keith Scott, also received a yellow card for foul play. Wycombe dominated the second-half with Ben Townsend and Roger Johnson looking solid at the back - there was also a rare taste of reserve team football for Marc Leach, younger brother of released Youth Teamer, Nick. Leeyon Phelan replaced Baird shortly after he had scored and could have doubled Wycombe's lead when he headed over from a good position in the dying minutes. Last season in 21 Combination games Wycombe won just two games and drew three while opponents Swindon finished sixth in the table. The Championship buntings are out just yet but it was good to get that first victory under the belt. Final Score Wycombe 1 Swindon Town 0
