Quarter-Final Diary
* Clean pants please Mum
Don't know if anyone can help me but I would gleefully pay good money to have a copy of Hutchinson's 1170 commentary of the epic Leicester game. The man must have been close to a coronary when Roy scored and I would imagine the odds of soiled breeches on the day of the semi-final must be evens at the most.......with a spread bet of it happening in the first 10 minutes looking favourite for the punters!

* D(r)og Addled
As for the national media, was it just me who thought that Paul 'Mad Dog' McCarthy looked high as a kite when interviewed on Match of the Day? The lad's eyeballs were like saucers as he lilted his way through the interview. Mind you - half the Wycombe fans were still pulling their jaws off the floor, so we know how you felt old Dog.

* The Old Guard Go Mental
Seeing Rhino and Cousins defying the stewards' cordon to leap into the crowd at the final whistle was one of the highlights of the day. The look on Cousins face at the end of the game was one of total awe and amazement and will go with supporters to the grave. These two indomitable stalwarts of the club are currently undergoing a renaissance, with Cousins possibly in the best form of his career. So Wycombe District Council - we'd like to see statues and road names as a tribute please.

* Super Steve and Maxwell
We've always loved Steve Brown. He is everything a fan wants in their team; hard but fair, tough tackling, full of lip and a man of the people to boot. However, not even he could have imagined that he would be making the front-page of the tabloids following the momentous win over Leicester. Brownie and his son Maxwell have gone into Wycombe Folklore and it's a fine reward for this loyal servant who will hopefully have a few more seasons to go in the quartered shirt. 'Maxwell is a Chairboy' - must be sung at Villa Park!

* The Full Monty
Finally - hands up who bought practically every paper going on the Sunday morning ? It was fantastic to see all the coverage and spot all the faces in the crowd that you recognise week in week out. The Pictures of the players were fantastic, Taylor weeping, Roy looking ecstatic, Savage looking like Evil Edna on 'Willo the Wisp'. However my favourite fan shot was to follow a week later on ITV's 'On the Ball' programme. They showed a montage of the game, complete with fellow fanzine guru Dale Hurman disrobing after the goal. Our Dale was delirious, flashing his ample assets to the whole nation, and possibly the world.......well worth the licence fee alone, and who knows girls, he might even go the whole hog at the semi-final!
