Wanderers Ladies Reserves v Moretonville Sunday 17th November 2002 Click here for Picture Gallery for this game
The Reserves met Moretonville previously unbeaten in the league and ran out 12-3 winners! Although Leah Asante was one of the few players not to appear on the scoresheet, her work rate and enthusiasm earned her the manager’s vote for Player of the Match.Leanne Palfrey opened the scoring with a spot kick and by half time the Wycombe were leading 7-2. Amy Watters capitalised on set pieces conceded by the visitors, scoring two directly from corner kicks and one from a free kick, but also another brace from open play. Laura Mc Clean added another to the hatful she scored the previous weekend and Jade Harker scored two on the afternoon. Stephanie Dean, returning from injury also got her name on the score-sheet twice, with an own goal making up the 12. This win sees Wycombe on the top of the table after 5 games. The next two weeks will be interesting as the two other most experienced teams in this new league host Blues next two fixtures. Holmer Green and Chesham Reserves have both played in the Women’s South Regional League in previous seasons and should make for closely fought games.
