Holmer Green v Wanderers Ladies Reserves Sunday 6th April 2003 Having confirmed their place as league winners the previous week, the Reserves never really got into their final game against neighbours Holmer Green and lost their first game of the season 3-1. Somewhat against the run of play Blues scored first. Becks Meller latched onto a Rachel Kyle clearance and rounded the keeper to score. In a game of few good Wycombe performances Jade Harker's name was mentioned, but it was Holmer Green that always looked likely to score and "Buttons" in Wycombe's goal was kept busy throughout the game. A good save at full stretch put the ball behind for a corner, but the delivery was a good one and couldn't be cleared, the equaliser eventually going in off the back of Tahli Jenkinson's head. Three subs were brought on at half time: Eleanor Crooks, "Freddie" & "Twinkle", but Holmer Green remained in charge, adding another two goals and it could have been more. Player of the Match Claire Burrage let her enthusiasm take over and was sent off for a deliberate handball in the area. Holmer Green scored the resulting penalty and Blues didn't recover their composure before the home side broke and scored at the far post to make it 3-1.
