Wycombe Wanderers Reserve Team Info
This page aims to collate Wycombe Wanderers Reserve Team matches since the Club entered the Football League in 1993/94 season. The Reserve Team initially played in the Capital League and then at the start of the 1998/1999 campaign, transfered to the Football League Combination. They continued to compete in this League until the end of the 2010/11 season.
The Club announced on Tuesday 5th July 2011 that their reserve side would not be entered into the Football Combination for the 2011/12 season - thus ending close to 30 years of competitive league action for a Wanderers Reserve XI. According to the Official website, the decision followed 'a consultation between the manager and his players'. Manager Gary Waddock commented, "The players and I are in agreement that we'd like to be able to choose when we play our practice games throughout the season. With 46 league games to play, as well as the cup competitions, there are some very busy periods and we don't want to put too much pressure on the lads by being committed to a reserve league. The practice games will be played at a high standard to ensure the players remain in good shape and are ready to be called upon when we need them for first-team duties." Wanderers Reserves have competed in the Combination since the 1998/99 season and prior to that in the Capital League and the Surburban League.
