Cardiff City v Wycombe Wanderers
OPTA INDEX MATCH PREVIEW
Friday night's game versus Wycombe is a crucial one for the Welsh side. The Bluebirds have lost just four games at Ninian Park all season, but nine draws have left them in the mire, and three points are a necessity for Billy Ayre's team.
Opta have taken various categories of play and identified dangermen from each side. The stats indicate that Kevin Nugent, Andy Legg and Jeff Eckhardt have been the Cardiff players offering the most this season.
Nugent has the most assists in the side, and is also the top shooter at the club. His prowess going forward has been noticeable this season, and he has crashed home seven league goals. This compares badly with the visiting Chairboys though, as they can boast red-hot Sean Devine in their ranks.
Andy Legg has been in good form too, and he made more tackles, crosses and dribbles than any other Bluebird. The former Notts County man has been particularly strong running with the ball, completing 88 per cent of his dribbles. This is a far better rate than the erratic Jermaine McSporran.
It is clear that Devine is the Wycombe player who carries all the threat. He has bagged 19 league goals, and also has five assists. If the City defence can nullify him, then the team stand a great chance of gaining three valuable points.
