Wednesday 26th July 2006
Friendly

Wanderers went down 3-2 in their only home pre-season friendly prior to the start of the 2006/7 campaign. Tommy Mooney was credited with giving Wycombe the lead in the opening minute but it appeared that Will Antwi got the vital touch. Watford equalised on 5 minutes through Matthew Spring and took the lead on 23 minutes when triallist 'keeper Adam Legzding dropped a cross and allowed Malky Mackay to slot in the loose ball. Mooney definitely scored Wycombe's equaliser on 53 minutes when he converted a penalty after he had been fouled by Richard Lee on the right side of the box. However, the visitors restored their lead two minutes later when Marlon King angled a shot past substitute Frank Talia.

New signing Chris Palmer hit the crossbar and Mike Williamson headed againt the post for Wycombe in the latter stages but the Premiership new boys held on for victory. Wanderers also brought on released Aston Villa youngster Shane Paul during the second-half.
