WANDERERS BRING IN FITNESS GURU
(Monday 16th September 2002)
Wanderers have appointed fitness guru Pat Fox in another effort to reduce the amount of injuries amongst the playing squad. The 39 year old New Zealander comes with a wealth of experience with New Zealand All-Blacks and their America Cup team. He also spent six years at London Wasps before a transfer to Saracens during the summer of 2002 as "Head Conditioner". His time at Wasps is will documented by the fact that they won the Premiership title during his first year with observers at the time suggesting this was due to the team's physical advantage rather than one based on tactics.
It's undertood that Fox will be employed on a part-time basis by Wycombe and will work alongside Reserve Team Manager and Squad Fitness Coach Peter Cawley in overseeing Wanderers fitness programme. Fox's football experience includs work with Leeds United and commenting on the appointment, Wanderers Sports Therapist Dave Jones said "He has introduced a new dimension to our training programme that will move the squad into a higher level of strength and fitness and as a consequence reduce the amount of injuries"
