LADIES TEAM PLAY CRUCIAL GAME
(Thursday 25th April 2002)
Wycombe Wanderers Ladies FC will be playing at Adams Park on Thursday (25th April) in a crucial game in the Women's Regional Southern - Northern Division. WWLFC are currently leading the League and will be taking on 2nd placed Stocklake who trail Wanderers by five points but have a game in hand. It will be Wanderers penultimate League game of the season and the team know that victory will clinch the League title. However, it will be no easy task. It was Stocklake who became the only side to take points off the Wanderers earlier this season when they won 2-1 at the Heywoods Sports Ground in Aylesbury back in December. Wanderers have since gone to register seven successive victories and scored 46 goals in the process and will keen to gain revenge.
Wanderers Ladies in action against Stocklake earlier this season - Heather Scutchings and Sophie Bowden in Wanderers white change strip Last season WWLFC finished as runners-up in their division and missed out on promotion after being defeated in a play-off.
The team usually play on The Rye at High Wycombe but the game with Stocklake has specially been arranged for the more glamourous surroundings of Adams Park. The game is due to kick-off at 7.30pm and admission will be FREE.
