FRENZY AT WYCOMBE
(Friday 18th August 2000) As the 2000/2001 season moves into gear the fanzine boom continues at Wycombe. The home game with Northampton on Saturday 19th August will see the first offerings of the season from terrace cynics One-One and Tales of a Chairboy - both fanzines offering great value at just 50p per issue.  'Tales'
is taking the
unprecedented step at Wycombe of providing a new issue for every first team game at Adams Park.
The first issue of 'Tales of a Chairboy' for the season will be issue No.8 having first been published in
August 1998. It's a case of one extreme to the other for editor Dale Hurman.
Last season a raging bout of disillusionment resulted in the publication
ceasing publication after just one issue only to return in April. A 3-0
victory over Colchester, 12th place in the league and now it's coming out
every home game. Good job we didn't finish above Reading or there would be an evening
issue too!
Meanwhile at the 'One-One' offices they will deliver Issue
No.12 of their biting rag. You can always rely on these chaps to come up with something different - in the final issue of last season they published their own interview with keyboard legend and football lover Rick
Wakeman!Other Wycombe fanzines, 'The Wanderer' and 'When Skies are Blue' will also continue to be published throughout the season, making the trek up Hillbottom Road awash with mags on most matchdays. Return to News Desk... |
