ROUGH GUIDE TO WYCOMBE WANDERERS F C
This page contains the following basic info on the Chairboys
Who are the Chairboys? - Brief history of the Wanderers.
'The Chairboys' is the nickname of Wycombe Wanderers Football Club. Formed in 1884 we gained promotion to the Football League in 1993 under the guidance of Martin O'Neill following over 100 years of success as a non-League club. Further promotion came in the first season in the League following a playoff victory against Preston North End at Wembley. This was the Wanderers third visit and third success at Wembley Stadium in four seasons. Martin O'Neill left for bigger things at Norwich City at the end of last season and ex-Crystal Palace boss Alan Smith is now in charge at Adams Park.

Planning permission was granted in September 95 for a new 5,000 seater stand. It is planned to be ready for the start of next season.

Brief directions: Leave the M40 Motorway at junction 4 and take the A4010 signposted Aylesbury and then follow the signs for Wycombe Wanderers F C. Go across three roundabouts and travel down hill. At the bottom is the first of two mini-roundabouts. Take a sharp first exit at the first one into Lane End Road and at the next roundabout travel straight across into Hillbottom Road (Sands Industrial Estate). Parking is limited at the ground but there are numerous industrial units that allow parking for a small charge (normally £1). Be prepared for a long queue after the game!

We're called the Chairboys because of the tradition with furniture making in the town of High Wycombe. We are the first and only Football League club from Buckinghamshire. We have won the Evening Standard Five a Side tournament for last two seasons at Wembley Arena.
